Convertible cars have a folding mechanism in their roofs. Weatherstrips, which prevent rain and wind from entering through openings, are designed to not interfere with each other when the folding mechanism is opened and closed. Structurally, their design is much more difficult than weatherstrips for closed-body cars. Further, these products have received praise from automotive manufacturers for their low noise, durability, and appearance.
